Matty Longstaff capped an astonishing Premier League debut as Newcastle lasted Manchester United season and transferred from the relegation zone.
Longstaff, 19, drilled home a very low finish from outside the box to render the Red Devils just two points over the three and also two wins this year.
Longstaff, playing in Sean, might have seen in the first half rattled the crossbar with a thunderous 25-yard drive, although Fabian Schar flicked a header narrowly over from a corner.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaers side appeared bereft of ideas facing goal: although Harry Maguire nodded a header wide from four yards, Andreas Pereiras bending strike was comfy for Martin Dubravka.
The people tally of eight points after eight matches is that their smallest since the 1989-90 season, if theyre a point off.
These two Uniteds had a title tussles during the 1990s, but the problem is different these days with the two sets of fans deeply unhappy with their respective owners.
Though big cash was spent in the summer – Newcastle signing striker Joelinton for a club album their opponents and # 40m bringing in defender Maguire for #80m – equally face the possibility of a season.
The Magpies are fighting to stay in the flight and they find themselves in 12th place in the table while the Red Devils are attempting to claim a European place in the close of the season.
They last won away from home in the league in February and prolonged that run to eight games with another showing that was lifeless and uninspiring.
Their defence has improved from past word, conceding eight times to date that will be the document in the division, in which the problems lie but its in attack.
Solskjaers men failed to get a single shot on target from AZ Alkmaar at the Europa League on Thursday and struggled to carve out clear-cut opportunities in the last third, the very best opportunity falling to Maguire, that should have transformed his close-range pointer at the first half.
Playmaker Juan Mata contributed little and with the burden of liability that was goalscoring falling to Marcus Rashford, the England international received no service in a side that has scored only once all season to over one target in a game , against Chelsea in the opening weekend.
