It was terrifying at the 8th and 9th inning for the Chicago Cubs yesterday day, however, the bullpen finally got the work done to secure a 2-0 victory. The night before, the Cubs managed to blow what looked like a secure lead in the 9th. But an identical fate wasn’t going to take place again for the Cubs. Rowan Wick and tyler Chatwood combined to pitch three perfect innings, allowing no hits and no runs. The only real mistake was Tyler Chatwood.
Chatwood has grown in the best reliever the Cubs have in their bullpen. Joe Maddon only has not been using him enough, often turning into his traditional relievers instead of Chatwood, that has primarily been employed as a starter in his profession.
