New Zealand back-row forward Luke Jacobson was ruled from the World Cup because of concussion.
Jacobson played Tonga a week and went with the group for the championship in Japan, but the All Blacks said the 22-year-old had endured a”delayed start of concussion”.
New Zealand Coach Steve Hansen said the participant showed symptoms this past week.
Jacobson, who has two caps, will likely probably be replaced by Shannon Frizell.
“After discussing this newest episode with Luke, in addition to our health care team, the decision has been made to, regrettably, draw him from the championship,” Hansen told the All Blacks website.
“We all felt that the best thing for him to do would be to have a rest from rugby until he is symptom-free and ready to return.”
