An ice hockey player was awarded an prize because of his performance – an AK-47 automatic rifle.
A club in the second grade of hockey, Izhstal’s head trainer, told the team was a fitting selection for a staff from Izhevsk.
The city is well famous for producing one of the world’s most recognisable rifles.
“Lads, now we too are introducing a convention,” head coach Ramil Saifullin told the group, cocking the rifle.
“As we are living in an arms manufacturing town, the town of the Kalashnikov, every match you’ll for yourselves title the ideal player, and the previous [receiver ] can hand it over to him,” he said encouraging the captain to title the first recipient.
“Could we fire ?” Before awarding it to the goalkeeper Savely Kononov into applause from team-mates, The captain joked.
“Congratulations on the win, however when we play we will be taken ,” Kononov said to more applause and laughter out of gamers.
“How do we take it away games?” One requested.
“We will figure it out. We will take a wooden version,” the coach responded.
