Oscar season is upon us. Even as some assert the Academy Awards are out of touch with contemporary entertainment and performances, people around the world will be following along on February 24 to find out which film truly was the best of the year.
The options are occasionally controversial, especially as some performers seem to be continually snubbed. It’s hard enough to become a famous celebrity. In fact, you are more likely to be hit by lightning than become a renowned celebrity, let alone an Oscar-worthy one.

But really, Glenn Close hasn’t won despite six nominations. It’s no wonder that she’s a front runner this year to win for her part in the Wife. It’s all about time, and the chances appear to be in her favor.
Obviously everyone wants to win, but they understand their chances might be slim, especially based upon the competition. Some actors just keep getting nominated to triumph, but end up missing out on the top decoration.
Look at Amy Adams. She had been nominated four times in the past 10 decades but still does not have a gold statue. Or how about Denzel Washington, who had three nominations in the last decade without a win. He has his two figurines for Training Day and Glory to keep him moving.
