Smith vs Ryder: Callum Smith discusses potential opponents for a blockbuster battle in 2020

Callum Smith can remain on track for a blockbuster struggle with a domain victory over John Ryder, but which big name tops a hit record for 2020?
The Liverpudlian super-middleweight defends his WBAsuper title against mandatory challenger Ryder at the M&S Bank Arena on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports, and Smith could make a gigantic homecoming battle at Anfield, or a bill-topping bout against among their biggest names in the united states.
A superb fight with SaulCanelo Alvarez and bumper domestic clashes with Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr might be possible alternatives, so we asked Smith to decide on the perfect opponent…
I like Daniel Jacobs and that comes across nicely each and every time I visit him. Hes quite a big profile in the united states and his close struggles with Canelo and Golovkin reveal to you just how good a fighter he is.
Me and Jacobs in New York could be a fight, because of his fame there and it. Hes got a great fight so after that we will get a better idea of the way he appears at 12st after moving upward from middleweight coming up against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Billy Joe Saunders is a fight that stands out to me that means he has something Id like and since he has a world title.
Though he has won a world title I dont think hes made as a consequence as he wouldve liked, but there is no doubt hes a fighter whos definitely world class.
As for me, I think hed be down at middleweight, however its something I would gladly accept since it would be a unification struggle between two British fighters, when a fight would be made then.
The Chris Eubank name means so it would not be a problem as I think it would find a good deal of folks talking carrying this battle that hes a significant draw. As a boxer, I dont believe Eubank does anything that unique.
He is tough as it pertains to combat, but theres no outstanding feature I think could give me any issues. He has done well for as far as hes got and when he wins a domain then hes done nicely, but it his name which stands out rather than capability.
Another name Id love to test myself from is Gennadiy Golovkin, but I really do wonder if moving to super-middleweight is a choice for him at all.
The past couple of years have been hard on him because of oppositions degree hes been fighting, so that I really do believe even though he is a threat for the majority of fighters, he is slowly winding down.
Hes among the worlds best middleweights and if he considers a move Im convinced itd be a big occasion and an opportunity for me to take on one of those big titles.
With no doubt, Canelo Alvarez is the battle that I need more than any. I am likely in a queue of about 50 fighters that are desperate to shoot on him and it is not difficult to see why.
Hes a name, hes certainly in few fighters in the world and he represents a massive evaluation .
There has been a few struggles lately where I do think hes shown some vulnerabilities and that he hasnt had it all of his own against the likes of Danny Jacobs, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Sergey Kovalev.
If he wants to fight at 12st afterward I think me and him is the very best battle to be made.
View Callum Smith against John Ryder from 7pm, on Saturday night on Sky Sports Action.
