The Olympic Games are divided into two competitions — the Summer Olympics and both the Winter Olympics. Both take place every four decades, with two decades between them. The Winter Olympics is the smaller of the 2 contests, but it includes several distinct events and sports.
Somewhat the Winter Olympics are for sports that are practiced on snow and/or ice. They’ve always featured curling, and ski in a variety of forms, together with figure skating, speed skating, bobsleigh.
In the past several years sports are added to the program. Included in these are some other kinds of skiing and skiing, skating, and skeleton (a type of sledding).
The introduction of more sports has helped to expand the appeal of the Winter Olympics. They had been traditionally of interest mostly in North America and Europe, because most of the competing athletes came from such regions.
Throughout the last few years, however, athletes in countries such as South Korea and Australia have collaborated successfully in occasions. This has contributed to audiences around the world.
Each Winter Olympics is held in a different host city. In twenty five states, they’ve been held So far. The USA has been home to the contest more times than any other nation (4), most recently back in 2002.
